Carlos shares a rewarding experience of mentoring someone who excelled beyond his own abilities. He advises adopting humility and a focus on empowering mentees, rather than holding them back.
Balancing Lifestyle in Service: Transparently and honestly, Carlos admits to struggling with work-life balance, a common challenge in the hospitality industry. He suggests accepting the imbalance and managing what you can – with factors like sleep deprivation, noise pollution, and substance use. Regular exercise and diversifying activities outside work, he believes are essential for mitigating the industry’s demanding nature and have allowed him to continue to work in service.
