James Henderson
Since founding the program in 2017, James has deepened the narrative on food and beverages through a cross-functional exploration of business operations. Establishing the show as a top business podcast, he was a Finalist in the 2018 Australian Podcast Awards, has ranked in the Top 100 and 200 Apple Business Podcasts in 16 countries and earned acclaim from Telstra as a Must-Listen Business Podcast and Canstar as a Top 10 Podcast for Small Business – alongside Gimlet’s StartUp and TED Talks.
James has featured on ABC Radio National’s Drive program, as an authority in the beverage industry.
Prior to Hospopreneurs, James founded a hospitality loyalty platform with partners who have since achieved their own international success with QR order-at-the-table technology.
He consults podcasters on strategy and production – and in 2017, leveraging a viral moment, founded a music event known as the City Bush Doof (a story in its own right).
A long way from his first hospitality job at Boost Juice, James has been employed by global beverage companies, Diageo and Campari and worked for blue-chips including Apple Inc. and The Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He currently consults with FMCG businesses on commercial strategy.
James has a Bachelor of Commerce, a Bachelor of Economics and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at The University of Queensland, Australia.
